题目: On-Chip Integrated Scalable Single Photon Source-All Dielectric Metastructure Based Nanophotonic Quantum Optical Circuits: A new paradigm for Quantum Information Processing

摘要:

On-chip manipulation of single photons generated deterministically from prespecified sources to create multiphoton entangled states in a scalable platform is a major milestone to be reached in photonic quantum information sciences and technology. In this talk, I will present our proposition [1,2], current status and continuing efforts [3,4] to realize such a photonic chip. A new class of high quality ordered spectrally uniform quantum dots based single photon source (SPS) with single photon emission purity >99% [1,3] has been demonstrated. Such SPS array is strategically embedded in co-designed all-dielectric optical resonant metastructures [2,4] whose single Mie-like resonance in the optical regime provides, as a function of spatial location, the needed five basic photon manipulation functions to create controlled on-chip interference and entanglement: enhancement of the SPS emission rate (Purcell enhancement), directional emission (local antenna), state-preserving propagation, beam-splitting, and beam combining. Nonclassical photon states can be generated utilizing our novel platform. I will present our experimental studies and the theoretical analysis and simulation of such SPS and all-dielectric metastructures integrated structure.

简介

Jiefei Zhang is an experimental physics and Postdoctoral Scholar-Research Associate in the Department of Physics and Mork Family Department of Chemical Engineering and Material Science at University of Southern California (USC). Her recent work focuses on developing novel chip-based semiconductor single photon source using molecular beam epitaxy and their integration with light manipulating elements towards realization of quantum optical circuit to generate non-classical states for quantum information processing.
