My working interest has been focused on high-Q optical microcavities and their applications in sensing, such as ultrasensitive magnetic field sensing, single nanoparticle detection, and temperature sensing. My talk will be focused on two parts:
1. Single nanoparticle detection using microcavities and nanofibers: We proposed and demonstrated a single nanoparticle detection scheme using split-mode microcavity Raman lasers, and detected 20-nm nanoparticles in an aqueous environment. We also realized single nanoparticles detection using a nanofiber array, in both air and an aqueous environment.
2. Ultrasensitive magnetometry using cavity optomechanics. We achieved ultrasensitive and broadband cavity optomechanical magnetometry, by incorporating a magnetostrictive material with the high Q optical microresonator, with the achieved sensitivity of 26.5 nT/Hz1/2 which is comparable with the same-sized superconducting quantum interference device (SQUID) but without using cryogenic system, and working bandwidth of more than 100 MHz. We also demonstrated quantum light enhanced cavity optomechanical magnetometry by probing the magnetometer system with phase squeezed light. We also developed a scalable and reproducible fabrication pathway for the on-chip cavity optomechanical magnetometry.

李贝贝,2005-2009年在天津大学应用物理学专业完成本科,2009-2014年在北京大学物理学院光学所完成博士,目前在澳大利亚昆士兰大学物理系从事博士后研究。研究方向主要集中在光学微腔、拉曼激光、高灵敏度传感、磁力仪、光力学等方面。
