摘要：
In this talk, I will provide a brief overview of our recent work ondynamical shaping of light beams with focuses on intelligently designed nonconventional optical beams, including self-bending Airy beams, auto-focusing beams, bottle beams, Bessel-like vortex beams, and tug-of-war beams for optical tweezers. I will discuss their applications in optical trapping and manipulation of micro-beads, airborne particles, bacteria and cellular clusters, as well as in laser-assisted guiding of electric discharges.
简介：
Dr. Zhigang Chen earned his Ph.D. from Bryn Mawr College in 1995. After two years of postdoctoral work, he was promoted to the rank of Senior Research Staff Member at Princeton University before joining the faculty at San Francisco State Univ. Dr. Chen received the Chinese Distinguished Oversea Young Scholar award, and later became a specially appointed professor at Nankai University. He has edited one book and published several invited book chapters, along with over 300 scientific papers in top-rated journals and conference proceedings including the Science and Nature family of journals. His work received numerous citations, and was featured frequently in science magazines and news media. Dr. Chen was elected as a Fellow of the Optical Society of America and a Fellow of the American Physical Society “for seminal contributions on spatial solitons, photonic lattices and beam shaping”. He serves as an editor for Optics Letters, Scientific Reports, Science Bulletin, and Advances in Physics X, and as a Program/General Chair for CLEO-Fundamental Science in 2016/18.
