摘要:
Interaction of ultra-intense laser pulses with plasma is accompanied with the generation of a significant number of energetic electrons, producing many secondary effects such as the intense x-ray emission, ion acceleration, and powerful terahertz (THz) radiation. With its high laser focusing intensity and absorption ratio, laser-solid interaction cangenerate intense radiation over a wide spectral range, with pulse energiesup to mJ level and a laser-to-THz conversion efficiency higher than few percent.Focusing of such a THz beam will result in an electric field of multi-GV/m, which provides a compact, tabletop source for a THz-driven linear accelerator or to study THz nonlinear effects.In this talk, several our recent works will be reviewed: (1) Mechanisms to generate ultra-intense THz pulses in laser-solid interaction. (2) A single-shot THz time-domain spectroscopy for short pulse intense laser systems. (3) Possible applications of intense THz sources.

金展,浙江省台州人。2000年毕业于清华大学物理系,2006年于中国科学院物理所光物理实验室L05组获得博士学位。其后在日本大阪大学激光研做博士后特任研究员,2007年任大阪大学光科学中心特任助教授至今。主要的方向为激光等离子体相互作用的实验研究,以及基于激光等离子体的强太赫兹源的产生及其应用。在Phys. Rev. Lett.等刊物上发表论文30余篇。
