题目:Nanostructure Engineering of Solution-Processed Photovoltaics

摘要:
Photovoltaics play a key role in the renewable energy development in the world. Semiconductor colloidal quantum dots (CQDs), including lead chacolgenide CQDs that have tunable electronic bandgaps from infrared to visible, serve as good candidates to harvest the broad spectrum of sunlight. CQDs can be processed from solution, allowing them to be deposited in a roll-to-roll printing process compatible with low-cost fabrication of large area solar panels. I will present the first CQD multi-junction solar cells using the size-effect tuning of a single CQD material, PbS. I will also discuss the light trapping in CQD solar cells and other solution-processed devices using metal and dielectric nanostructures. It includes the absorption enhancement by resonant coupling of the incident diffracted light with supported waveguide modes using nanostructured electrodes, and by localized surface plasmons when metal nanoparticles embedded into absorbing layers.
 
简介:
Xihua Wang has been an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Alberta since July 2012. His current research interests are in the area of nanomaterials and micro/nanostructure engineering for photovoltaics and novel optoelectronic devices. He received the BSc degree in Physics from Peking University (Beijing) in 2003, and the Master and PhD degrees in Physics from Boston University in 2005 and 2009, respectively. He was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Toronto from 2009 to 2012. Dr. Wang received the Award of Excellent Performance in Academics at Peking University (2002), Photonics Graduate Fellowship at Boston University (2006), and the Ontario Postdoctoral Fellowship at the University of Toronto (2010).
王锡华现为University of Alberta(加拿大)助理教授,博士生导师,北京大学学士,Boston University(美国)博士,University of Toronto(加拿大)博士后。研究方向:纳米科学与技术。迄今为止,在SCI杂志Nature PhotonicsNature MaterialsNano LetterAdvanced MaterialsACS Applied Materials & Interfaces, Applied Physics Letter等发表21篇高水平学术论文,累计引用超过1000次。
