题目:New generation micro system diode laser applied for Raman investigations

Abstract:
We introduce a new generation of micro system diode lasers for Raman spectroscopy at 785 nm, 671 nm, and 488 nm as compact and robust devices with output powers ranging from 25 mW up to 1.5 W, high side mode suppression ratios>40 dB, spectral linewidths<1cm-1, and long term frequency stability. The three diode lasers are able to emit at two closely adjacent wavelength with a separation of 10 cm-1, enabling conventional and resonance enhanced Shifted Excitation Raman Difference Spectroscopy (SERDS, SERRDS) in order to dramatically reduce the fluorescence background. Even extremely small Raman signals, typically masked by the background, can be identified. To enhance the Raman signal, Surface Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy (SERS) will be applied and recently developed high-active surfaces will be presented.
Measurements on meat (Raman/SERDS-spectra) highlight the big advantage of our method for in-situ food quality control. As a second application we report on the in-situ detection of chemicals in seawater (SERS/SERDS-spectra) in the frame of the EU-project “SENSEnet”. First results of on-board Raman measurements in the Arctic area will be presented.
 
 
Dr. Heinz-Detlef Kronfeldt简介:
Heinz-Detlef Kronfeldt was born in Berlin, Federal Republic of Germany, in 1949. He received the Diplom-Physiker and Doktor-Ingenieur degrees from the Optical Institute of the Technische Universität Berlin, in 1975 and 1979, respectively. Since 1975 he has been engaged in atomic and nuclear physics of free atoms and ions in the spectroscopy group of the Optical Institute. In 1980 he worked with the research laboratories of the AEG Telefunken, Germany. Since 1989 he is Privat-Dozent of experimental physics and leader of the laser spectroscopy group at the Institute of Optics and Atomic Physics in the School II, Mathematics and Natural Sciences at the Technische Universität Berlin. He is interested in fundamental problem like atomic, nuclear and molecular physics but also in laser spectroscopic applications in life sciences, environmental physics, non-linear optics and laser medicine.
