题目:Progress on laser-plasma accelerators and applications
报告人:Prof. Eric Esarey(Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, California, USA)
Abstract:
Recent progress on laser-plasma accelerator (LPA) research at LBNL will be summarized. This includes the production of high-quality electron bunches at the 1 GeV level using 60 TW laser pulses in 3 cm long plasma channels. Control of the acceleration process using an integrated gas jet-capillary structure will be described. Applications of LPAs to high-energy electron-positron colliders and to XUV free-electron lasers will be discussed. The new 1 PW BELLA laser facility at LBNL will be described, including experiments planned to demonstrate the production of 10 GeV electron bunches in a 10 cm long plasma.
