题目:Metal-Insulator Transitions in Ferroelectrics
报告人:Prof. Gerald D. Mahan(Pennsylvania State University, USA)
Abstract:
Strontium-Barium Niobate (SBN) is a new and possibly important thermoelectric material at temperatures around T = 500-600 K. It is a relaxor ferroelectric with Tc ~ 350 K. We propose that the good thermoelectric properties are due to a metal-insulator transition in this oxide, which is induced by the ferroelectric transition.
