Abstract：
Fiber lasers have attracted significant attention in last few years. Many breakthroughs were demonstrated both academically and commercially. Most efforts in fiber laser development focus on rare-earth doped silica fiber. We are actively design new glass compositions, fabricate new fibers, and design new fiber lasers to take advantages of multi-component glasses. Our current progresses including fibers with extremely high gain per unit length, single frequency fiber lasers with kilohertz linewidth, 2 micron Q-switched fiber laser, as well as 2 micron mode-locked fiber lasers will be presented.
Dr. Shibin Jiang简介：
Dr. Shibin Jiang is President of AdValue Photonics Inc. and Adjunct Research Professor at College of Optical Sciences, University of Arizona. Before he founded AdValue Photonics Inc in June 2007, he was CTO/co-founder of NP Photonics Inc. He obtained his BS degree from Zhejiang University, MS degree from Shanghai Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics, and Ph.D. in 1996 from Universite de Rennes 1, France. He has authored and co-authored more than 100 publications, delivered more than 25 invited talks, edited 14 proceeding books, and holds 27 issued US patents. Dr. Jiang was awarded with the prestigious Gottardi Prize in 2005 from International Commission on Glass (ICG). Currently he serves as Associate Editor of Journal of Lightwave Technology, Topic Editor of Applied Optics, Editorial Board of Fiber and Integrated Optics and Chinese Optics Letters. Dr. Jiang was elected as Fellow of SPIE in 2005, Fellow of The America Ceramic Society in 2008, and Fellow of OSA in 2011.
