摘要:
In long-distance quantum communication and quantum information processing, narrowband nonclassical light is necessary and desirable for these applications, based on the interface between light and atoms. Conventionally, narrowband nonclassical light, especially entangled photons, is generated from spontaneous parametric downconversion with the use of cavities. In this talk, we will discuss a new source to produce these narrowband entangled photons from four-wave mixing in cold atomic ensembles. We will look at both temporal and spatial correlations of these photons and their potential applications. We will also discuss quantum memory using electromagnetically induced transparency to coherently store and retrieve single photons.
温建明 博士 简介:
2001年本科毕业于山东大学物理系,2007年在马里兰大学巴郡分校获得物理学博士学位,与导师Morton H. Rubin从事非经典光和量子成像的研究。毕业后在本组,弗吉尼亚大学,以及阿肯色大学继续从事量子光学方面等研究。目前主要研究方向有:量子光源性质,量子信息,量子成像,光与物质的相互作用,光子晶体等。在Phys. Rev. Lett., Phys. Rev. A 和一本专著上发表文章15篇;为Phys. Rev. Lett., Phys. Rev. A等十多种重点刊物审稿。
