题目:Frontier of high harmonics Toward keV x-ray and sub-50 attosecond pulses
报告人:Prof. Shunrato Watanabe(Institute for solid state physics, University of Tokyo, Japan)
摘要:
A few cycle, multi-millijoule, carrier-envelop phase (CEP) stable, optical parametric chirped pulse amplification (OPCPA) system was developed at a repetition rate of 1-kHz. By using this system, CEP dependence of harmonic generation was cleary obverved down to the water window. The harmonic wavelength was extended through the water window. The energy band width was broadened enough to ensure sub 50 attosecond pulses below 10 nm. The efforts toward keV x-ray and isolated sub 50 attosecond pulses will be presented.
Prof. Shunrato Watanabe 简介:
Prof. Shuntaro Watanabe was born in Shimane Prefecture, Japan, on August 8, 1946. He received the B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Tokyo, Tokyo, Japan, in 1970, 1972, and 1975, respectively, all in applied physics. From 1970 to 1975, he was engaged in research on the excitation mechanism of metal vapor lasers. In 1975, he joined the Electro-Technical Laboratory (AIST at present), Tsukuba, Japan. From 1975 to 1981, he was engaged in the research and development of excimer lasers. From 1979 to 1980, he visited the National Research Council of Canada. During this time he was engaged in the development of wide aperture discharge rare-gas halide lasers. In 1981, he joined the Institute for Solid State Physics, University of Tokyo. Since then, he has developed ultrashort excimer lasers and Ti:sapphire lasers. He has been engaged in the research on multiphoton processes such as harmonic generation and ionization by using these lasers. Recently, he is engaged in time-resolved XUV spectroscopy in solids and attosecond pulse generation by using high-order harmonics. Since 2000, he has collaborated with Prof. C. T. Chen at Chinese academy of science to develop DUV and VUV light sources by using KBBF, which have been successfully applied to ultra-high resolution photoelectron spectroscopy. He was a vice-director of Institute for Solid State Physics from 2004 to 2008 and is currently a professor with the university of Tokyo. He received the Hattori Seiko award by research on high-order harmonic generation by ultrashort pulse, high power lasers, in 1992 and opto and quantum electronics award (Hiroshi Takuma award, Japanese society of applied physics) by pioneering work in the generation of coherent short wavelength light and its evolution to attosecond nonlinear optics, in 2009. Prof. Watanabe is a member of the Physical Society of Japan, Japan Society of Applied Physics, the Laser Society of Japan, and the Optical Society of America.
