题目:Two-photon-induced three-dimensional photonic crystals and devices

摘要:
Fabrication of micro- or nano-scale photonic devices in polymer materials to control and manipulate light propagation represents a hot topic nowadays. Compared with conventional semiconductor materials, polymers are easy to prepare and have the flexibility of incorporating novel materials to realise various functionalities. As one of the most powerful tools in microoptical fabrication two-photon induced microexplosion or polymerisation technique has been widely employed recently to produce multifarious photonic devices, particularly the photonic crystals, which is a promising candidate for integrated optical devices. This talk will focus on the recent advances of the fabrication of three-dimensional photonic crystals in polymer materials using both the two-photon microexplosion and polymerisation techniques. Various photonic crystal based devices are demonstrated.

Dr. Baohua Jia 简介:
Dr. Baohua Jia received her PhD. in the Centre for Micro-Photonics in Swinburne in August 2006. Currently she is a project manager in CUDOS, an Australian Research Council (ARC) centre of Excellence, and an Australian Research Council Postdoctoral Fellow (APD) in the Centre for Micro-Photonics. Her research interest is focused on fabrication of novel functional photonic crystals using photo-sensitive polymer and high refractive index materials and investigation of superprism and nonlinear effects inside 3D photonic crystals; Active photonic devices facilitated with quantum dots infiltration into photonic crystals; Near-field manipulation of micro/nano particles and nanoparticle synthesis towards biomedical applications. She has published papers in Advanced Materials, Optics Letters and Applied Physics Letters et al.
