题目:Nano/Micro-fabrication of Photonic Devices

摘要:
Integrated optic devices have shown the capability to provide high bandwidth, high speed and ultra-small optoelectronic components for large scale optical integration. We will present some of our recent results in the development of silicon-compatible photonic devices based on silicon-on-insulator waveguide devices and polymer based devices. Ultra-small ring resonators, and ring-based tunable wavelength division multiplexers fabricated by our group will be presented, as well as 1D and 2D photonic crystal based devices. Finally, we will present some of our new results in merging MEMS with photonics.
Assistant Prof. Roberto Panepucci 简介:
Roberto Panepucci is an Assistant Professor at Florida International University – FIU in Miami, FL. He received his Ph.D. in electrical engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign - UIUC with research emphasis in optical properties of III-V nanofabricated structures. After a post-doc at the University of Campinas he joined the Cornell Nanofabrication Facility (CNF) as a senior research staff where he managed the high resolution e-beam system and developed nanofabrication techniques. He was the MEMS team leader in a photonic start up company, Galayor Networks, developing suspended Si waveguide technology. He was a Senior Research Associate with the Nanophotonics group at Cornell University prior to joining the faculty at FIU.
